111 N. 11th (Rock Star)

111 N. 11th (Rock Star) is named after my studio address in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, the neighborhood I lived and worked in for 5 years. The materials for this drawing are reconfigured found stickers, which I collected as I walked daily from my home on the South 11th to my studio on the north side of Williamsburg. This act of collecting and arranging was a kind of mapping, and expanded my studio space and work time into the outdoors. This particular configuration translates my memory of West Coast tree matter in an urban material, bringing the two coasts closer together. –Artist statement
