Sleater Kinney Stage Proposal #1, 2004

Michael Brophy was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest.  Brophy states, I draw my images from my surroundings, the Pacific Northwest, its environment, history and people. I'm interested in how the earth is shaped by human endeavor. The Sleater Kinney Stage Proposal #1 was part of a series of paintings Brophy made for the rock band Sleater-Kinney to select for their album The Woods. –Artist statement
