Efface

Like clothing and vehicles, buildings now serve more than their original purpose. We have made them into symbols of ourselves. I am exploring the acquired personalities of these structures in my paintings and expanding on their irregularities. Efface, was inspired by an apartment building across the alley from my house. When I first moved to the neighborhood I would sit in my kitchen for extended periods of time observing the peeling paint and the second floor doors to nowhere. –Artist statement
