Peters experiments with fragmented forms and abstracted geometry that. . .address a sense of place misplaced - symbols locked in ambiguous spaces, timeworn yet active - archaeological dreams in contemporary settings, part fact, part fiction. (artist statement).  Her work is distinctly idea based.  It is art as an expression of ideas in abstract terms.  Her images are contextually grounded, abstract and organic.  Additionally, Peters has been greatly involved as a community art activist for many years.

My images include sources from my immediate environment, but also incorporate experiences encountered from my travels in non-Western countries.  I believe that once beyond one's own culture, what we see and integrate is initially abstract, founded in incomplete information and committed to memory in fragments. –Artist statement
