Book Talk

Book Talk began as a simple line drawing from a dream image, and grew into a piece about discovery and learning, analysis and criticism, openness and growth, definition and lack of definition.  It is about the flame and the fruits of knowledge, and the unraveling of riddles.  Especially, it is about knowledge and innocence, and the danger and beauty of both. Many of the pieces I make are triggered by particular events or emotional experiences, although I sometimes begin with strictly formal images which then acquire meaning as the piece evolves. –Artist statement
