Phases 1998

Phases examines interior, body images through medical imaging and the use of flowers as an analogy to the body.  The lily is taken from an x-ray image, on the right a drawn outline, on the left a drawing of the lily interior.  Depicting public/private boundary, the print displays opposition of direction, light and dark, interior and exterior, and refers to the phases of life as an ephemeral process, of and about nature and transition. –Artist statement
