Studio (Artist in Studio)

Studio was a work commissioned by the University of Washington to celebrate the inauguration of the Jacob Lawrence Gallery and as a fund-raiser for the Jacob Lawrence Gallery Endowment. A renewed demand for original prints had sparked Lawrence's initial interest in printmaking, but the medium also offered great aesthetic potential for him.
