Vase

Robert Jones is one of the region's leading abstract painters.  He carries on the modernist tradition with his handling of paint, his intrigue with Hans Hoffman's push-pull theory for spatial arrangement.  Color, line and form are all important to Jones' painting.  Only a notion of objective subject matter is suggested.  As a viewer, we are given a rich, contemplative visual sensation that suggests we are not only witnesses to the finished piece but to the act of painting that led to its completion.
