The paintings of Robert Jones, a long time art professor at the University of Washington, now retired, epitomize the concerns of the Abstract Expressionist movement. In his work, as in the Abstract Expressionist movement, there is a sense of immediacy, a feeling that one is not only a witness to the finished work but to the act of painting that led to the completed artwork.
