It is not clear what the artist means by the title, but apparently these old Thunderbirds illustrate the consequences of the syndrome.  Sometimes an artist simply focuses our attention on the commonplace events and places we ordinarily ignore, forcing us to see them in a new way.  Our gaze can be directed towards beauty, or as in this case, towards the peculiar.
