2020 has marked a challenging year for artists in the fine and performing arts as we struggle with isolation from our traditional communities and revenue streams, but where we are also struggling to reckon with ideas of relevance. In Black Lives Matter, I am trying to elevate the voices of great writers, activists, and thinkers from the Black community. In their book "Of Poetry and Protest," authors Michael Warr and Philip Cushway create what they hope will someday be "a relic chronicling a period of insanity and inhumanity." We are living in that insane and inhuman time. –Artist statement
