In 2002, San Francisco based artist/photographer Thomas Chang completed a Fulbright Grant project entitled 'Cultural Tourism in China.'  In this project the use of photography is examined in its presumed value as truth and the way exotic representations of China are created and perpetuated through tourism is questioned. –Artist statement
