I was born in Victoria, grew up in Vancouver and graduated from the Emily Carr College of Art and Design.
A series of old family portraits from as early as the 1920s is currently my main source of inspiration. The formal seated portraits seem to have their own stories to tell. My great grandfather first came to California in 1906, my grandfather in the 1920s and my father in 1933. –Artist statement
