The columns provide a physical framework through which we may focus our perceptions of existence.  The blue demarcation of sky and sea, blending into an indistinct haze of space and light speak to the condition of the environment through which we are passing.  Does the disappearance of the horizon line imply that the health of our environment is nearing its end or that our current environment can continue on endlessly? –Artist statement
