The artist explores the deep outdoor spaces that are such a beautiful part of our lives in the Northwest. She does her explorations in small-format made from direct observation, and based on an extremely narrow palette of colors chosen in response to the particular character of light at the moment she begins. Her goal is to convey with subtlety the precise temperament each kind of light imposes on our experience of space. If successful, the result is a small, perhaps beautiful, fiction.
