Petit Nature Morte (snowballs)

The artist metaphorically explores the connection between sex and death in his work.  He plays with the blunt and somewhat shocking literal translation of the French terms, “nature morte” (still life) and “petite morte” (the post-orgasmic state).  While demonstrating the connection between sex and death, the artist ironically blocks the connection with a innocent sugary appearing surface, imparting such terms used for lovers as honey, baby, sugar, sweetie.
