Battleship and Meatbergs

Jessixa Bagley is a Seattle based author/illustrator, focusing on picture books, fine art, and comics. She likes taking larger ideas and re-examining them by adding an unpredictable element. Battleship and Meatbergs is a piece from her series "Explore and Conquer", where she looks at how ridiculous it is to try and take over masses of land or oppress people. She replaces the oppressed people and land with something equally ridiculous to control – giant, over sized food. She invites the viewer to look at where we’ve come from. –Artist statement
