Imagine Wanting Only This

I was born in Wisconsin and grew up on the farmlands and restored prairies of Northern Illinois. I currently find my home in Washington where nature and books have created a deeper sense of place- a sense of home, with a healthy appreciation for stories. This piece was inspired by the Inuit creation myth of Sedna, a poor maiden who has an unfortunate incident of drowning and losing her fingers, which become creatures of the sea, thus making her a goddess of the sea and marine animals. –Artist statement
