“This work celebrates the tenacity of wolves. It also illustrates the overlap between wolf and human habitats through the inclusion of wildflowers commonly found in the Northwest, reminding us that wolves also live in these places even if we cannot see them. This piece also celebrates the bond between a parent and child. Just like humans teach their young to sing, wolves teach their pups to howl. I believe this is a universal phenomenon and I hope this painting sparks a heartfelt awareness of the interconnection between all species on this planet.” –Artist statement
