I am a South Seattle based photographer whose primary artistic interest is in amplifying and making visible the beauty, complexities and challenges facing people of color in our region. As a queer artist of color, I am particularly interested in the intersections of identity and foregrounding queer and trans people of color, people of color with disabilities and other marginalized and often invisible parts of our community. This work, Black Bois, captures the power, self-determination and inspiration of the members of the Black Bois project, created by Dani Tirrell as a “love letter to Black minds, bodies and spirits." –Artist statement
