Submerge

In bringing together poetic text and glass, my goal is to give the medium of glass a voice. I ask myself, if glass were given the gift of speech, what would it have to say to us? So often we approach art with a set of requirements: we want the work to elicit beauty or happiness, to please or enrage us, to bring us meaning, etc. These works put that back on the viewer. One cannot merely look at and judge an object when it is talking back to you-not only talking back, but asking questions that require a hard look at ourselves. –Artist statement
