名媛 (rich cultured beautiful social butterfly female trying to be a celebrity) 2  is from my exhibition "Turtle Puppy Nest", 2017, which I intended to build a home for a turtle that I had at the age of twelve. The sculptures are imaginary nests and fixtures that parallel the absent home and comfort I crave. One work is Monkeys Who Scooped the Moon from the Water, after a folktale. In the tale, a group of monkeys saw the moon reflected in a pond and wanted to harvest it. They formed a monkey chain from a tree branch, so that they could scoop it from the pond, only realize the moon was still in the evening sky.–Artist statement
