In life, it is often women who save other women from harm and it is also women who carry us through the treacherous waters. After watching a women’s boxing match while I was also reading Greek mythology, I wondered why Talos gender was male when it could have been just as easily been a woman? So, I recreated a scene I remembered from the boxing match: an incredibly strong woman carrying another women across the ring but now dressed in Greek armor and wading through the Cretan waters. –Artist statement
