12 Hydrostone Panels

In general, the Panels incorporate images and symbols significant to the past, present, and future in relation to the contents of the Vitrification Kit. The Vitrification Kit was commissioned in 1996 by the Seattle Arts Commission’s Visual Artist’s program for the Portable Works Collection. Specifically, images were selected to reference geological time, historical social thinking, and symbols representing the dualistic nature of the universe.
