This painting is one of a body of abstract works that I developed from a language based in paint body and the exploration of form.  In the process of making this work, a variety of characteristics ware arrived at including, 'expressive' surfaces, controlled accidents, and the implication of light.  The surfaces I investigate often suggest the celadon glazes of Japanese ceramics while the structure of the work has Western derivations in a modified grid.
