Watch: Description: A coffee/tea pot theme sculpture is derived from its location in front of a thriving café. The artwork celebrates the ritual of drinking coffee and tea as a pan-cultural social activity that brings people together in this multi-ethnic community and provides a historic landmark. The sculpture is a three-legged stainless steel pergola with glass sphere on top. Overlaying the coffee/teapot sculpture is a nature-based theme of curving branching forms reminiscent of Thornton Creek’s plants, flowing water and streams. The curved, branching forms made from stainless steel also evoke the curved fins and fenders from old cars as another theme appropriate to the Lake City Community.
