Untitled (hand/double index)

This etching is one of a series that evolved from an archive kept by a woman who ran a dating service during the late 1960s – early 1970s.  The Polaroid photographs and corresponding text on the index cards have proved a rich source for building a vocabulary infused with the ambiguity of emotional longing.  My work centers around ordering and recombining visual fragments- isolating an image or fragment of text and placing it in a new context.
