These small wood engravings are part of a series depicting “parted-out” cars and trucks in commercial junkyards.  “I find the older junkyard vehicles especially appealing, as they are usually thoroughly stripped with intriguing dark gaps where engines or seats once were housed." Wood engravings are made by cutting lines into the end-grain of hardwood blocks with small, specialized tools.  Ink is rolled onto the cut block and paper is pressed to the block.  The parts of the block that are removed will print white, the uncut portions will print black.
