In her early work Thomas drew inspiration, in part, from the stories she was told by her father about his childhood in Florida. Her style changed dramatically when her parents both were killed in a drowning accident in 1988. Her colors turned cold and her compositions became turbulent. Now some twenty years after completing these two works, her style has become more specific, more personal and more poignant.
