Saltine Grid

This rendering of saltine crackers is a cross between a traditional still life and a Pop Art image. While it is not quite splashy and commercial enough to qualify as pure Pop, it's not somber and stodgy enough to pass as a traditional nature morte either. In any event the artist does achieve one of the goals of both approaches: he has drawn our attention to and consideration of these ephemeral objects by carefully arranging them for our inspection with care and a bit of deadpan humor.
