In 1982, the Seattle Arts Commission staged a regional competition to acquire textile work for the Seattle City Light % for Art Portable Collection. This twined textile object was created by a Vancouver, B.C. artist who works exclusively with seagrass. It joined twenty-two additional works to form the basis of the Portable Works textile collection.
