Dennis Cunningham is a noted Portland printmaker. Cunningham’s expressed ideas and concepts deal mostly with man’s impact upon the natural environment from a regional point of view.  “By gathering personal experiences and feelings, and forming them into visual narratives, I consistently return to a theme that chronicles my interest in the activity of fishing in the Northwest.”  This image was created for the Seattle Arts Commission’s “Salmon in the City Project” in 2001 which drew public attention to the issues surrounding salmon in the Seattle area.
