I'm interested in advancing a new kind of depth and space in field painting. I like an intricate and elaborate layering of discordant ornament and eccentric forms. I hope for a certain sumptuousness and sensuality, while aiming also for technical and internal rigor. I'm for a painting that is outward going, multiple in reference, frequently dissonant and fragmented yet whole, alive, liquid, lush, harsh, breathing, pulsing. –Artist statement
