Feeling Geisha

The artist has excerpted a small passage from a traditional Japanese print as a jumping off point for this pastel abstraction. Like a shard of broken pottery, this fragment is no longer part of the larger whole that gave its easily understood purpose. But isolated, and focused upon it becomes attractive and mysterious.
