Second Avenue Project

Description: The artwork consists of small artistic events incorporated into the redesigned streetscape: a walkway with “planks” of poured concrete; “welcome mats” formed of steel plates; anodized aluminum light-fixture brackets with neon clocks; and fiberglass-topped benches with steel, concrete or plastic wood bases.

Artist Statement: As you walk this section of Second Avenue, you will discover bits and pieces of this neighborhood’s past inserted into its present streetscape.  I have placed these objects here to remember the experiments and improvisations that have and will continue to define the Denny Regrade.
