Cubism, the movement in painting that was invented by Picasso and others at the beginning of the twentieth century is still influencing artists who are working nearly a century later. Cubism is an intellectualized way of looking at the world. In its simplest sense, Cubism proposes that objects on a picture plane are not subject to the same rules of time and space as the objects in the real world. They can exist in two or more places and times at once.
