Seattle City Light Promenade

This artwork is one of series of four monumental canvases commissioned by Seattle City Light in 1987.  They were painted at a time when the artist was articulating his experiences of travel in New Guinea.  When viewed from a distance the paintings appear to be wildly active abstractions, however upon closer examination, the viewer can make out many references to the New Guinea culture.
