Seattle City Marathon

In this painting Seattle City Marathon, I imagined what a city would look like if everyone looked to resemble Sloth from the movie The Goonies, then came together to run a marathon. What germinated as a compulsion with the loveable disfigured character from the 80’s Steven Spielberg movie, led to four solo exhibitions, spanning five years, and over 400 Sloth paintings. It has been wonderful seeing the smiles on people’s faces as they react to these paintings, some are so big they are distorted themselves, as if they were Sloths.  Never has been making art been more fun. . . –Artist statement
