Two Tall Men

I missed New England a lot, especially some of the more evident Yankee heritage, i.e. salt box houses and stone walls. I began (subconsciously) to use folk art imagery in my work: paint on carved wood with framing, use of found objects. Folk art is made from objects at your fingertips. Wood scraps are abundant in the Pacific Northwest. So basically I dug around Seattle for wood scraps, tin cans, other people's litter. I collected whatever looked to be potential art makings. –Artist statement
