The artist's work increasingly appears in major public commissions around the country, but she also continues to create her wonderfully playful, but edgy small works.  Fitch employs imagery from architecture, advertising, fashion, and historical references to explore the illusory surfaces of her urban and psychological environment.  The Mannequin series closely re-invents the expected use of flocking as a visual merchandising device, but somehow the sculptural process thwarts the usual expectations and new associations arise.
