“It is one of a series of sculptures inspired by stray images from the artist’s dreams and memories. Specifically, “Hanging Fruit” is based upon an image that was revealed to the artist in a dream, compounded by the “I Ching” that she received the following day which noted, “The pomegranate will ripen in due time.” - from interpretive text written by Beth Sellars for the “Human References, The Marks of the Artist” exhibition, Seattle, 1997.
