In the late 1970s and early 1980s, the artworld was vigorously examining the diverse possibilities of art expression through the process of handmade paper. This artwork is a classic example of such investigations with its free-form design, scumbled surfaces and blended colors. With a command of the hand, the paper pulp evolves from a mass of soggy fibers to a lyrical suggestion of plant formation.
