The Father of the Groom lived next door to my mother's niece in Sa Dec, Vietnam. My mother and I were invited to join his son's marriage celebrations. The entry gate to a family's home is highly decorated with flowers and the family name during the auspicious event. The image captures the conversation with his guest on the other side of the gate as I walked up to his property. –Artist statement
