Make things as simple as they can be, but not simpler. Albert Einstein

I work with a palette of simple forms: cylinders and circles.  It is from these shapes that all forms derive.  They are the symbols of life, male and female, and the origin of all forms in nature.  I use corrugated cardboard fastened together with staples to make sculpture.  I am interested in the possibilities of making beauty from a common and mundane material.

I want the sculptures to read as metaphors for life experiences such as the balancing acts that define our lives or how for you can go with something before it collapses.  I like to make large round forms that can represent seed pods, something you could squeeze or eat. –Artist statement
