Project Description: The artwork consists of glass panels cut to fit into the steel mullion system designed for the wall by the building architects.  The panels have sandblasted images on the surface and are aluminum-leafed, creating one large contiguous work that spans the full height and width of the wall. The images include some of the very things that SPU uses to ensure clean water, including beakers and other testing equipment, as well as animals and plants that depend on water.

Artist Statement: Life spreads forth from clean water.  The availability of clean, potable water allows us a sense of well being and abundance.  The keys and beakers connote the problem solving aspect of the lab.  The animals and plants note the interconnectedness between all living things and their overall dependency on water.

Location: Seattle Public Utilities Water Quality Lab, 800 South Stacy Street, Seattle WA 98134
