The artist is best known for this type of remarkable beaded sculpture, however she was trained as a painter, ceramicist and printmaker. A Chicago native, she enrolled herself in drawing classes at the Art Institute of Chicago when she was in grade school. After moving to Seattle she received her master of fine arts degree in printmaking at the University of Washington. Pink Flair is a declaration of form and patterning. The animal horns are domesticated by a universal human expression of decorative embellishment that encapsulates their shape. They are further tamed by the feminine color of pink.
