Elephant Connection

I am after beauty, with an edge of uncertainty, vulnerability, and power.  I use animal metaphors to explore issues of intimacy, closeness, and separation.  Her paintings show animals with startlingly guileless, human-like expressions.  She distressed her canvases by running water over the paintings to give them an aged, dried-out look.  With these works she started to bead the edges because she hated the edges to look unfinished, but also didn't like to stretch her canvas.
