Socorro

This etching is a tribute to my mother, who passed away in 1995.  In celebration of her life, I have included a photo of my father in his army uniform, a doll from her collection, and her two cats, Fatboy and Mini. Mini, her favorite cat, sees the angels approaching.  The little girl angel is my sister, Gloria, who died on the day of her birth.  The seven goldfish in the aquarium represent my mother's seven surviving children.  One of my mother's great lemon meringue pies is shown with a photo of our first family home and her two favorite videos.  The lady's compact represents my mother's habit of always putting on makeup with her morning coffee. –Artist statement
