Together Apart

The imagery for Together Apart came from a longing to connect with my father (my heritage and past). He passed away as I turned 18 and I felt a huge part of my world was lost to me. The two figures stand facing each other, but are separated. One is in color, the other is a faded grey with star-like sparkles. The presence of the faded figure is palpable. Although this is my personal interpretation, we can see it as a need or want to connect with a fading past.  –Artist statement
