Swamp Mountain

I created this piece for a group show about the 30th anniversary of the Mt. Saint Helen's eruption in 1980. I was in the 1st grade when the eruption took place and remember the scenes of ash and destruction on the news for months. This piece is about the death and rebirth of the planet and the power of nature. –Artist statement
